Really. I get quite unpleasant to be around. Being a parent certainly puts a crink in it, though, as you suggest. I've been lucky that over the last few summers, I have HAD that "alone week" you suggest would be so great…and, yes, it WAS great. And, yes, I spent much of it anxious and missing my family. Only to wish I had it back practically the minute they walked in the door.
