cranky baby, cranky mama

I don't know what's up with Daniel these days. This morning he whined and fussed for about 3 hours, interrupted only by two naps about 10 minutes each. I wonder if he's teething. By lunchtime, I was at the end of my rope. My bad mood did nothing to improve his. When mama ain't happy, ain't nobody happy, right? We were equally frustrated until he finally, finally nursed and we both took a nap together. Sometimes I feel like I can't wait for him to get a little older, because even if toddlers are difficult, you can do something about annoying behavior.

Until then, I will just have to breathe in and out, in and out, and wait for naptime to do its magic.

Maybe you need a little theme music for each part of the day -- a little nursing music... is there such a thing? Ok, I know nothing about motherhood. I wish I could help : )

not a bad idea, pam! in fact, he loves the "itsy bitsy spider." it gets him to sleep sometimes. i ought to dig up some good CDs or something to play when he's cranky.

or you could play your PIANO (does it make you happy just remembering you own a piano?) That way, baby would be soothed, or whatever, and you could get out a little frustration on the keys.
Beethoven's Fifth is really good when you're frustrated! BHA BHA BHA BHAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

BHA BHA BHA BHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

LOL! Seriously, it does sound like he's teething. If some Baby Anbesol doesn't help the situation, check him for an ear infection. (If it is teething, take a clean, wet washcloth and stick it in the freezer. When it's good and cold, give it to baby Daniel to chew on, and he'll be all happy and slobbery! It worked WONDERS with Jamethan!)

The old wet washcloth trick. We used to give Everett a bottle of water that I kept in the ice box. Sometimes I wonder if breast babies get dehydrated when they won't nurse, and maybe water is something their bodies need. And their mamas, too, for that matter. Are your folks still there?

Actually, breastfed babies get all the water they need. Daniel certainly hasn't shown any signs of being dehydrated.
My folks are still here, probably leaving the day after tomorrow. building shelves is waaaaay more complicated than it looks!
