Hoot! Hoot!

I just got an email from the graduate secretary that I PASSED both written portions of my prelims! That's a big relief. No more bitching and moaning from Suze for a while, I promise!

Hi Suze,

Congrats on your prelims; is that, like, the same thing as "comprehensive exams" as I knew them at MSU?

Your photos are great; I especially liked 1) the cat barf scarf prominently displayed, and 2) your friendly-looking, lumberjack-y, hairy husband.

I just realized why I like the family portrait so much--Daniel has the sweetest smile on his face, squeezed between his parents. He has this look like he wouldn't want to be anywhere else in the world than right there.

OKay, I have but one complain. Suze, that can't be your supremely flat stomach we see in that last picture. Your baby's still a baby! My stomach hasn't looked like that in years, and I don't have any babies!

I think those need captions. Those are beautiful pictures, especially the last one.
