You don't see this every day...

...unless, that is, you're in Glasgow, Montana!

eeeiiigaah.

that's only slightly less creepy than the table full of pig heads i once saw in a french market.

why is she in front of a church? were they just driving past, or stopping for a special Hunters for Jesus assembly?

well, bowhunting season just started and i guess someone got lucky with a few elk. and the church was just there. you might not find much else in montana, but there is no lack of 1) hunters and 2) churches.

So what we're seeing in that picture is a lot of elk antlers and elk rear ends? I couldn't quite figure it out, except for the antlers. Interesting---

that's all elk torso, baby. and a girl holding herself up on those antlers. following a pick-up truck. in front of a church. downtown.

Yikes! One might think y'all weren't from the South, being so surprised by dead game near a church.

becca, this place is nothing like the south. For one thing, there aren't elk in the south. For another thing, there ARE trees in the south.

i was with my sister-in-law when we took the picture, and she's a born-and-bred southerner. her eyes just about popped out of her head and then she said "who's got a camera?" I was lucky enough to have one on me, s I snapped the picture.

I live in Wisconsin, remember? Hunting is a major factor in the tourist economy here. (CWD has been a real bugger for that the last couple of years.) I have seen PLENTY of dead animals in and on pick-up trucks and SUVs--just never anyone hanging onto them driving through the middle of town!

Well, I was joking. But I guess living in Sadieville was more different than I thought. I can't tell you how often we drove past Mandi's parents' shop to see deer hanging and draining before being processed. And I lost track of the number of deer who sacrificed themselves by running in front of various family cars.

That's a sight that'll wake you up real quick.

well, you've got me there, becca. sadieville is an entity unto itself, eh?
